Project Description

MT-1 Department of MSTU Bauman participated in the shipbuilding related grant. As part of this theme there was a task to develop software application for designing propellers. This application had to be built on the basis of the licensed software

For the solution two programs were chosen - Sage and T-FLEX CAD.

Sage provides functionality of symbolic and numerical calculations, operations with matrices, 2D and 3D graphics, animation, databases, processing text files and cad data and even documents of Libre Office and Microsoft Office.
Joint usage of Sage and T-FLEX provides inexpensive package with the possibility of calculations of any complexity, powerful and robust 2D and 3D parametrics, seamless integration and support for standards.

Users perform calculation in Sage and result goes to T-FLEX CAD that updates automatically 3D models and drawings. Specific part of the project is the fact that Sage is working under Linux and T-FLEX CAD under Windows but authors of the project could successfully resolve technical difficulties of such integration.
